AD integration

The vCenter Server can be integrated with an external identity source, so you do not need to configure individual user accounts or groups on the vCenter Server level, but instead use a centralized database.

There are three possible integrations, as follows:

    • Active Directory through Integrated Authentication
    • Active Directory through LDAP
    • LDAP server

As you can see, you can use either Active Directory as a central user and groups database or any LDAP-enabled identity source. In most environments, you will find that Active Directory through the Integrated Authentication mode is used more than the traditional LDAP approach since the configuration is much simpler. If you want to configure the Integrated Authentication mode, ...
