Combining bespoke makes, hires and sourced costumes so that they blend seamlessly as a coherent whole, reflecting the designer’s design, is a key skill for any supervisor. It can feel as much like a giant puzzle to get to the final complete rail of costumes, and much will rely on the supervisor’s instinct and judgment, as well as a modicum of luck when fabric sourcing, hiring and shopping.
