However long you have had to work on your design, the time will come for it to move into the hands of others for construction and installation. Your responsibilities change in this next phase but do not stop.
The Final Package
The amount of time you have to design a project will vary wildly from a few weeks in a last-minute situation, such as replacing another designer, to six to eight weeks in an academic calendar to six months or longer in a professional situation. Longer periods are possible in opera or on a new musical or other large project. However long the design period, it will end with the designer’s preparation of a final package of materials to submit for approval.
