Melodic Sequencing
Sequencing music involves capturing and managing of all the parts that combine to form the performance of a piece of music. The producer is therefore responsible for every detail of each part involved. Quantization and rhythmic manipulation were covered in Chapter 6 and represent the first step toward creating realistic performances. This chapter introduces virtual instruments as well as ways to control both volume and dynamics, which will prepare you to create a truer representation of a musical performance within a DAW.
