Scoring for Longer-Form Media
Commercials and other short-form media scores need to create and maintain a suitable sonic environment for the product being advertised. By contrast, long-form scores—such as films, television shows, documentaries, web series, video games, etc.—need to set an appropriate mood and then capture emotional changes that occur over a longer period of time. This chapter will explore techniques for setting appropriate atmospheres, maintaining continuity and interest, altering emotional content, developing ideas, and creating final deliverables for more complex media scores.
