French Impressionist painter Claude Monet, like many artists throughout history, traveled abroad to paint the exotic scenes of foreign lands. London was one of Monet’s preferred destinations. He traveled there twice over the course of his career, studying the techniques of British artists (such as John Constable and Joseph Mallord William Turner) and painting the local scenery.
