One of the most important things that you will need to do now that you are running your own server is ensure that you keep it up-to-date. On many operating systems, applying updates can be a rather “exciting” process and—usually—one to be avoided like the plague. This is because updates have a nasty habit of not just fixing bugs but also introducing a complete set of new ones.
