Chapter 3. CSS3 Styling

Styling in HTML is performed using cascading style sheets (CSS). Modern web sites have moved on from using inline styling in HTML pages to using CSS. They appreciate the separation that the W3C has introduced between the text content and its presentation, including layout, colors, and fonts. This separation enables multiple pages to share formatting, and reduces complexity and repetition in the structural content. It can also help improve accessibility by allowing a choice in styling—in particular for rendering on different devices.
