This final chapter discusses the rewrite log, as well as other methods for debugging your rewrite rules and regular expressions. The rewrite log can also be good for optimizing these rules, by figuring out how they are actually being evaluated.
Many of the techniques discussed in this chapter assume that you are the administrator on your own server, or that you at least have a shell account and access to basic command-line tools.
