Companies spend eye-watering amounts of money on employee communications, trying ‘to align behaviours with corporate values’, and ‘live the corporate vision’.

But we’re not idiots. Like Soviet propaganda, we instantly discount anything we are told we should think. What we believe is what we see and experience with our own eyes.

So, if you are a leader, and want a message to be believed, don’t lecture your staff. Do something epic that will be remembered. Stories are more powerful than any HR diktat.
