Stepping Stones: The Journey of an Idea

Just as there is an entrepreneurial journey, as noted in the Introduction, I believe that ideas go on a journey and evolve through four main stages:

1.  The Light-Bulb Moment. The moment that you first spot an opportunity and envisage a solution is often your light-bulb moment. You may experience additional ‘light-bulb’ or ‘eureka’ moments as your idea evolves. Your concept may be very sketchy with the ‘light-bulb’ moment not happening until later down the line, once you’ve had a chance to gather feedback, flesh the idea out, give it definition and build momentum. At this first stage of idea evolution, your idea will be relatively unpolished.
