At the end of this chapter, you’ll be asked to prepare your own version of this project after learning how to set up the 3D scene using a demonstration file. Before you begin working in After Effects, here are some final tips on the workflow for a complex matte painting. I’ll also provide two more examples of using photography in your painting without using the photographs directly. If you want to get right into true 3D space, you can skip this section and move to the “Importing the Painting into After Effects” section of the chapter. You can come back to this section when you create your own version of Hades.
