Peter Drucker’s famous quote is still ringing in our ears: ‘If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.’ Yet intranets have traditionally suffered from a lack of measurement: even where appropriate tools are in place, metrics are gathered and analysed inconsistently, and do not always help form the basis for decisions.
