It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In this appendix, I’ve compiled a list of companies and products that you should find useful as you begin to explore the world of digital SLR photography and image editing. This list is by no means complete, (that would be a book of its own!), but is a compilation of what I feel are some of the best products in their categories.
Cameras
Canon and Nikon are the two giants in the field, but there are several other quality dSLRs that you may want to look at.
