THE DIRECTOR’S RELATIONSHIP TO THE FLOOR PLAN
The process for developing movement onstage incorporates three elements: (1) the floor plan (the physical layout for the use of the stage), (2) stage pictures (static images creating compositions with the actors for key moments in each unit onstage), and (3) blocking (the movement of the actors from one stage picture to another). Each of these elements will be explored in the following three chapters.
