Critical Incident Questionnaire (CIQ)
The Critical Incident Questionnaire (CIQ) is a one-page, five-item instrument that provides anonymous feedback on how discussions are progressing.
Purposes
- To provide regular, valid information on how people experience discussions
- To help facilitators judge the accuracy of their assumptions about what best helps people learn
- To detect problems early before they get out of hand
- To help participants appreciate the range of learning preferences in a group
- To model critical thinking by instructors and leaders
- To keep resistance in accurate perspective
