An identity infrastructure allows us to securely demonstrate who we are. A naming infrastructure allows others to contact us.
The best change that the Internet has made to our lives has been the ability to contact anyone, anywhere, anytime we want using any mode of communication we want. We can contact our friends from our homes, from our cars, from our work, and from our school, and we can use e-mail, instant messaging, voice, or video.
The worst change that the Internet has made to our lives is that it has given our friends, our colleagues, our acquaintances, and a billion people we have never met the ability to contact us anytime, anywhere.
