Image-editing tools, particularly those such as Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, and so on, are immensely powerful programs that offer a number of ways of achieving almost identical results.

For this reason the steps outlined on the previous pages are no more than my recommendation. This is partly because there are so many ways of making similar corrections, but also because any evaluation of a photograph is ultimately subjective and part of the creative process. Allied to this is the concept of “tips and tricks,” which in other circumstances would just be sloppy methodology.
