Increasing Image Size

As sensor resolution has been steadily increasing year on year, the issue of increasing the size of an image—upscaling—has become more and more redundant.

However, even with today’s 20+-megapixel sensors, there may still be times when you’re not sure if your camera’s resolution can fill the size of the print you want.

And so the question still arises, how much is it possible to enlarge a digital image and still have an acceptable level of detail?
