JOHN TULLOCK FIRST DISCOVERED HIS SIDE INCOME IN THE FORM of violet Virginia bluebells, which are native to his Knoxville, Tennessee, home. The luminescent, bell-shaped flowers were easy for him to grow in his backyard garden, and also easy to sell to local garden centers, which have trouble keeping bluebells and other popular native plants in stock. He soon expanded into poppies, bleeding hearts, trilliums, and orchids.
