Archivists often seem to me to treat their collection as if it were Cinderella, and they are half-way through the story. Once upon a time Cinderella was a pretty girl living her life in a dark forgotten corner. Finally the prince saw her attributes, and after a few problems and some help from her godmother, she met a prince and lived happily ever after.
