Chapter 7Climbing the Ladder

The biggest challenge the impostor syndrome poses for those of us who experience it is that it is impossible ever to work hard enough to quell the feeling of not belonging. Our fear tells us that if we put in the extra hours, prepare better, and sacrifice more, we will have earned our place at the table. The same fear, however, constantly reminds us that we are from the wrong side of the tracks, that we don’t look like everyone else, that we are not as smart, and so on and on.
