29. USING A TRIPOD FOR PANORAMAS
THERE IS NO doubt that a tripod will help your photography. Using a tripod allows you to keep your camera rock steady during the photo-making process, making it much easier to capture sharp images. When you’re taking panoramic photos it’s important to keep the camera steady for each image; however, you also need to move the camera between shots. There are specialized tripod heads for panoramic photography that allow you to capture a series of images without parallax distortion (when objects in the foreground seem to change position from one image to the next).
