SIMPLY BY LOOKING into another human’s eyes, one is reading a narrative (Figure 52.1).

Gesture, in this photographic sense, is that special way a person signals a message or an emotion through body language. Gesture can express joyfulness, sternness, or inquisitiveness, and it can make the subject appear intellectual, confident, or sultry.
