15. COMPOSING A HORIZONTAL IMAGE
AS HUMANS, OUR eyes see and experience the world in a horizontal format, so it’s really no wonder that it’s the default format most people choose without giving it much (if any) thought. It’s a format that works for most any subject, though it’s especially well suited for things like group photos and landscapes. (It’s no accident that the horizontal layout in your printer settings is referred to as “landscape.”)
