41. FINDING (OR MAKING) SOFT LIGHT
WANT TO TAKE a beautiful portrait? Find (or make) some nice, soft light. With soft light, the shadows are so gentle that you won’t have to worry as much about them causing harsh lines like they can when they’re produced with hard light. Because it’s so diffused, soft light has a way of wrapping around everything it touches, like a giant hug. It’s flattering and makes you (the photographer) look like a genius.
