36. FILTERS
THERE ARE MANY different filters available in the world of photography. Two common filters that affect the exposure of a scene are neutral density filters and split neutral density filters.
Neutral Density Filter
The neutral density (ND) filter is a dark gray filter used to reduce the amount of light entering the lens without any change in color. This can become a fourth way of controlling light, after shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. This filter is used for two very different photographic needs.
