45. HIGH CONTRAST
SCENES WITH HIGH contrast can be challenging to correctly expose. It might be a dark forest with bright sunlight streaming through the trees, a bride and groom in a dark church with bright windows in the background, or the interior of a home with windows looking out to a yard bathed in sunlight. In all of these situations, a standard exposure will not be able to show detail in both the shadows and the highlights because they are likely beyond the range that the modern digital sensors can handle.
