FOR ME, THE Elation of the Landscape is most clearly felt in the mountains. I’m not totally sure when I first experienced mountains in person, but I do remember examining a specific photo on the cover of a cassette tape over and over again. The photo showed a range of mountains stretching into the distance with what has come to be one of my absolute favorite visual effects: atmospheric perspective.
