I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
1. YOUR IPHONE IS A CAMERA
ALL JOURNEYS BEGIN with a first step, and the journey that will take your iPhone photography beyond the snapshot starts before you take any pictures and requires only a simple shift in your mindset. It has nothing to do with lenses, image sensors, lighting, composition, photo-processing apps, or accessory gadgets. It has everything to do with seeing. By seeing, I am not referring to how you compose a shot (we’ll get to that soon enough), but rather how you see your iPhone.
One of my favorite quotes that can apply to many aspects of life (and certainly to photography) comes from the writings of Henry David Thoreau:
