28. THE COLOR OF THE LIGHT
ONE OF THE more interesting qualities of light is color. This does not refer to the colors in the scene, but to the actual color of the light. The color of light is based on a variety of factors including the type of the light source, the time of day, the weather and other atmospheric conditions, as well as reflected and transmitted color from elements in the scene. For example, light reflecting off of a colored wall or shining through a colored medium, such as colored glass or fabric, can influence the light’s color (Figure 28.1).
