It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
54. TEXTURES, EDGE EFFECTS, AND BORDERS
TEXTURES, CREATIVE BORDERS, and edge effects have been a mainstay in iOS photo apps for several years. Early trends were photo apps that created an aged, distressed, damaged, or vintage look, which is still a popular style today (Figure 54.1 and 54.2).
One potential drawback to some textures is that, because they are used by a lot of people, they may be very recognizable. In Snapseed, for instance, the Grunge filter offers five different textures you can use (Figure 54.3).
