55. DIPTYCHS, TRIPTYCHS, AND MIRRORED IMAGES
WE’RE USED TO seeing photographs presented both as single, stand-alone images, and also in groups, albums, or series. A diptych or a triptych lets you present a single image that is an arrangement of two or three photos. Diptychs and triptychs are not meant to look like a photo collage, but are simply photos that are presented in two or three portions next to each other as a unit. This allows for a new way to present a subject beyond a single image, as well as offers the possibility for some interesting visual associations.
