CHAPTER 11 Interframe Subband/Wavelet Scalable Video Coding
Abstract
A new class of video coders using 3D subband/wavelet transforms along the motion trajectory has emerged in recent years. These nonhybrid or “stateless” video coders can be highly scalable in bit rate, resolution, and frame rate without losing coding efficiency. This class of interframe subband/wavelet coders requires a highly accurate local motion field though. But this motion field can then be used for preprocessing at the coder as well as postprocessing at the decoder. ...
