There really is no finishing in life, is there?
You’re finished when you’re dead. Until that day, there is always more to do, more to enjoy, more to be. It’s the journey that counts, but remember that this is a never-ending journey. Even as you find success, there is always more.
What I’ve learned foremost with the successful people I’ve interviewed is that even as they hit their targets, even as they achieve their goals, another new shiny goal will come in its place.
That is both a wonderful and a terrible thing. It’s wonderful because the amount of change, creation, and progress that one person can make is amazing. But the entrepreneurial mind is almost never satisfied with enough. It strives to do more and be more. It can feel like you are never doing enough or never living up to your potential.
It’s that act of continuously striving and making incremental progress that counts. There are no overnight successes. It takes years. It’s a series of small wins.
We can’t guarantee the results. We can figure out the best actions to take to achieve those results and then do them. If they don’t result in what we want, we have the opportunity to try again.
That is how you achieve success.
It seems we all want this amazing event to come hit us and blast us with a million dollars like the lottery. We want a big-business buyout, that amazing contact with someone who will make all of our dreams come true. So let’s ...
