I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
If You Can’t Bounce Off the Ceiling
Not all ceilings are white, and not all ceilings are low enough to effectively bounce light off of, but here’s the good news: the light from your flash will bounce off anything white. I remember once being on location with a legend in wedding photography, David Ziser, and he bounced light off a guy’s white shirt to light the bride. White is just an incredibly reflective color when it comes to flash, and once you realize that, it opens up a whole new world of possibilities, like bouncing off a medium-sized sheet of white foam core, or bouncing off a white wall, or bouncing off a white collapsible reflector.
