4Skill Building for Your Business Goals
There are certain skills that are necessary to understanding and adapting ourselves to make our business (and ourselves) successful. Some of these ideas might not apply to your immediate needs. If so, this chapter might be one you come back to later.
You might be the CEO of your cubicle or an employeepreneur. You may be starting out on your own in a solo business. Or maybe you have a few employees. Or perhaps you already own a business but still feel there's a lot to learn before your unique style fits the needs of the business.
You can adapt this chapter's ideas to fit your role. If I mention a skill that might be better suited for someone still working for a corporation, but you have two employees in your own business, then adapt it. If you're not sure how, drop me a line: chris@ownermag.com. We'll work on it together.
The Real Basics
This book is about entrepreneurship. It's not as much a basic how-to book as a “you can find a way to thrive, even if you're not the typical businessperson” kind of book. But there are some basics we should at least mention as skills you need to develop if you're going to inherit the earth.
