Everyone has a story. The sharing and retelling of those stories, and snippets of our life experiences, is what enables us to relate to others and binds us together as human beings. When we tell our stories, I believe that the shape of our recollections is influenced by the audience with whom we are sharing. Often, we make accommodations for the listener so that we can manage their perceptions of whom we want to be in their eyes.
