A two-year journey reached the end of its first leg on April 20, 2010, when Hilton Worldwide unveiled a proprietary system called LightStay, which calculates and analyzes its hotels’ individual and collective environmental impacts. The system measures energy and water use and waste and carbon output at Hilton Worldwide properties globally.
