Artificial intelligence (AI) is perhaps the hottest buzzword and technological innovation we've seen in the past decade. It's everywhere. Hell, even Snoop Dogg is talking about it, as well as your grandma and your second cousin once removed. AI has become part of the cultural zeitgeist and none of us can escape. The idea has been around since 1954 but it only reached mass adoption recently with the release of ChatGPT, which brought this amazing new technology to the masses. It's not an area with which either of us is super‐familiar, so we leveraged our expert panel of thought leaders as well as our trusty friend AI to help write this guest chapter. The AI was powered by Google's Bard.
The Rise of the Machines
AI has us all concerned on many levels, whether it's about more humans losing jobs, leveraging this technology to fight wars, or the technology training itself to rise up and take out the human race. Ideas that seemed far‐fetched, like something from a Hollywood movie, are becoming more and more realistic every day as this technology continues to proliferate. The threat of the rise of the machines is real.
The one thing we all know in Web3 is that AI isn't a separate technology meant to replace it, but rather a technology meant to enhance it.
