In this chapter we will cover a range of basic and intermediate topics. Our goal is to offer a broad perspective on concepts such as nonlinearity (as it relates to game music), requisite skills helpful to game composers, as well as foundational components of game music such as loops, stingers, and layers. We will explore these topics in depth in later chapters.
Many of the following concepts are entry level and can be understood by novice game composers. However, we will quickly move on to more intermediate topics.
