People ask me what my number one piece of advice is for attaining the motivation to do great work. It's usually at a dinner party or some other social function, and I think they're disappointed by my answer. For three reasons:

1. I get all super-academic-excited.
2. I don't say the usual simple stuff like ‘just believe’ or ‘visualise your success’.
3. The answer is as simple as it is powerful.
