Where to Treasure Hunt
Always be alert! You never know when you might come across a buried treasure that could make you a substantial profit.
Secondhand Stores
When I talk about secondhand stores, I’m referring to places such as Salvation Army thrift stores, Goodwill Industry stores, AMVETS (American Veterans Thrift Stores), mom and pop secondhand stores and Consignment stores. These are all excellent locations to find some very valuable items.
People often ask me, “How can there possibly be treasures at secondhand stores?” Believe me when I tell you that people are making huge finds at these locations every day. In February 2009, a person found a piece of art at a secondhand store that was verified to be 150 years old. An appraiser friend of mine valued it and wouldn’t you know it, that buried treasure was eventually auctioned at Sotheby’s (www.sothebys.com) for $450,000!
That particular treasure was found at a Goodwill Industry store. The item was waiting in the store for what could have been days to weeks to months. One day, because someone knew what to look for, they found a treasure worth close to half a million dollars. It’s an amazing story, and it’s true!
