Key Elements from My Tried-and-True Garage Sale Timeline
I cannot tell you how many garage sales I’ve seen where people will slow down, stick their heads out the car window, take a look around and keep on driving. This is definitely not what you want to have happen at your sale.
Size Matters
Implement this key element one month before the date of your garage sale
To make sure your garage sale is an even bigger eye-catcher, you’ll want to have as many items as possible in view to sell and have them spread out on as many tables as possible. By having enough tables to display all your merchandise, your garage sale will look nice and big. When you have people driving by to see if your sale is worth the time and energy to get out of their cars to shop, bigger is most definitely better. Also, when you have a larger sale, people will take more time to browse and eventually to shop. In my decades of garage sale experience the more time people spend at a garage sale, the more money they seem to spend.

The more treasures, trinkets and goodies you have in your garage sale, the bigger it will look. By having a fully stocked sale, your chances for garage sale success and making as much money from your sale as possible will increase exponentially. When people drive by and see a lot of great items at a garage sale, they will almost always stop, get out of their cars and walk quickly into your sale.
