CHAPTER 10

A Half-Day Program

The only way to grow in our understanding of gender communication is to stretch ourselves to experience a broad range of ways that people enact gender. By developing an open-mindedness to gender beliefs and practices that may be different from our own, we will no longer be limited by our own social positions or viewpoints. By investigating any inequities we discover, we may also become more sensitive to the daily realities some of us face, and help bring about changes that restore fairness and equity.
