From an evolutionary perspective, this means that the key variable in shelter seeking is the interaction between the individual and the environment. The more favorable the fit, the more empowering the environment will be to the individual. “I’m in a good place, I’m married to the right person, and I have the right job,” are statements that communicate a good fit.
