One of the things we hope for from a high-quality reverse engineering tool is fully automated identification and annotation of as much of a binary as possible. In ideal cases, 100 percent of instructions are identified and grouped into 100 percent of the original functions that compose the binary. Each of these functions would have a name and a full prototype, and all data manipulated by the functions would also be identified to include full understanding of the original data types used by the programmers.
