Chapter 22 Tailor Board Work to the Company

Now to look at how to organize the work of the board. There are so many statements of principles, recommended best practices, and other prescriptions proliferating that rule number one in organizing board work has got to be questioning what makes sense in the context of the board and corporate circumstance. Thinking about the related benefits will help filter out the noise and allow the board to develop its own practices. It is not necessary or desirable to adopt a policy only because it is labeled a best practice. Such fashions come and go.
