CHAPTER 10Changes
The Changes Clause is unique to government contracts. It gives the government the unilateral right to make changes to the contract during performance if such changes fall within the general scope of the contract. Fixed price supply contracts fall under the standard changes clause. In these, the government may make changes to the following terms and conditions during performance, provided that such changes fall within the contract’s scope of work: (1) the method of shipment, (2) the place of delivery, and (3) when the item is manufactured specifically for the government, the Contracting Officer (CO) may request changes to the drawings, designs, or specifications.
