Benjamin Graham

Regarded by many as the greatest investment intellect of the twentieth century and the father of modern investing theory, Benjamin Graham became the mentor of many famous investors, including Warren Buffett, who worked for Graham for two years. Buffett was introduced to Graham’s way of thinking by reading what he regarded as ‘the best investment book ever written’, The Intelligent Investor, when he was 19 years old, and later offered to work for him for nothing. Despite the low cost offer Graham kept turning him down. Buffett later joked that Graham had seen him as over-valued, ‘he took this value stuff really seriously’.
